Singapore's Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangements (effective Dec 2024) require employers to fairly consider formal FWA requests. Singapore has no statutory minimum wage (except for cleaning, security and landscape sectors under Progressive Wage Model). The probation period is typically 3-6 months (contractual, not statutory). Notice periods range from 1 day to 4 weeks depending on length of service. The standard work week is 44 hours under the Employment Act.
The median gross monthly salary in Singapore is approximately SGD 5,200 (around USD 3,900). The highest-paying sectors are Financial Services (median SGD 7,500), Information & Communications (SGD 6,800) and Professional Services (SGD 6,200). Fresh graduate starting salaries average SGD 3,800-4,200.
Singapore has one of the lowest personal income tax rates globally, ranging from 0% to 22% (24% from YA2025 for income above SGD 1M). CPF (Central Provident Fund) contributions are 20% from employees and 17% from employers for those under 55. Effectively, most workers take home 75-85% of their gross salary after CPF and tax.
